Before you can book your practical driving test, you need to pass the driving theory test – two parts in one sitting: multiple-choice questions and the hazard perception test. Here's what to expect, and how we help you prepare.
Multiple-choice questions
You'll answer 50 multiple-choice questions and need 43 or more correct to pass, with 57 minutes to complete them. The questions cover the rules of the road, road signs and safe driving – all based on the Highway Code.
Hazard perception
The second part shows video clips of everyday road scenes; you click when you spot a developing hazard. It comes a few minutes after the multiple-choice section, and you need to pass both parts in the same sitting.
